Tarahumara Indian
pottery vessel - "olla"
with stand

This is Sandra, a Tarahumara Indian artist who
decorates these ollas for me with traditional designs that
she learned from her grandmother.

These designs all have significance in the traditional cosmology of the Tarahumara people. Sandra is my good friend, and she has taught me a lot of surprising things about Tarahumara religion and folklore.

Note how this one is just typical design of many. Each one is more or less unique. Although these might be similar or in some cases close to identical, we have to send the ones that we have in stock, so please allow us to pick one out for you.
