How to tie a long rebozo with the Double Cross method

Our model, Rocio, will demonstrate with a life size doll, Angelita, one of the most popular techniques for tying a long rebozo in order to carry a baby.

Photo number one - Holding securely onto Angelita, Rocio slips the middle of the rebozo behind Angelita's back

Photo number two - After crossing the two ends behind her back, Rocio pulls them up to hold Angelita securely against her chest.

Photo number three - Rocio crosses ends back down over Angelita's back

Photo number four - Rocio now brings the ends back around her waist, making she that Angelita's feet are outside and over these ends, and she ties them behind her waist.

Photo number five - Rocio adjusts the rebozo so that Angelita is snug, comfortable, and secure.

Photo number six - The knot in back will not slip, because it is not under much tension. Rocio could just leave it like this, or tie a square knot, or, considering how much length she has to spare (Rocio is only five feet tall) she could tie a slip knot.
Rocio thinks this is about the most secure and comfortable tying method we have tried so far.
